Aged Care Updates – Statewide

Southern Cross Care Inc Tas (SCCT)

The ANMF has received further concerning reports from members about the implementation of the Household Model of Care which SCCT management assured would provide optimal care to all its residents. We strongly urge members to report any incidents, medication errors or sub standards of care to the ACQSC by following this link.

The ANMF has written to the Acting CEO (Jara Dean) requesting an urgent meeting to outline all our concerns about the Household Model of Care and the wider implications of removing qualified and experienced enrolled nurses from the SCCT workforce. If you would like further information about reporting to the Aged Care Quality and Safety team, please contact Northern Organiser, Nicki Hood via email at nicki.hood@anmftas.org.au.

Southern SCCT Facilities

The ANMF has been advised of the reorganisation of the Board at SCCT and the implementation of an Acting Chair. The ANMF congratulates all members for their commitment and dedication with looking after the residents in their care. The ANMF will plan site visits over the next two weeks to catch up with members.

North West SCCT Facilities

ANMF officials met with members at SCCT Yaraandoo on Wednesday 30 September 2023, followed up by a meeting with the Facility Manager. In light of the change of management at the head of SCCT, the ANMF is hopeful of establishing a collegial relationship that will achieve outcomes for members and residents.

North

Calvary Aged Care

The ANMF continues to negotiate for a replacement Enterprise Agreement (EA). Calvary is discussing each clause one by one which is delaying negotiations. As further details are agreed, the ANMF will send a newsflash communication to keep members updated. You are welcome to contact Northern Organiser, Nicki Hood via email at nicki.hood@anmftas.org.au, or speak with your Workplace Rep if you have any questions about the negotiations.

Updates correct as at 6 September 2023.
