Public Sector Updates – South

Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH)

Emergency Department (ED)

The ANMF has sought additional clarification from Tasmanian Health Service (THS) ED management regarding outstanding member issues/enquiries, as well as advice on a suitable date and time for a secondary member meeting to occur. Members will receive notification via multiple communications once the meeting is officially confirmed.

Member Meetings

The ANMF has booked member meetings at Nephrology South (Carruthers Building, St John’s Park) for Wednesday 4 October and Thursday 5 October 2023 respectively. Members are encouraged to attend to discuss current nursing conditions/considerations.

Car Parking

The ANMF held an initial meeting with the Hobart City Council to discuss the continued parking arrangements for nurses and midwives at various public sector locations in Hobart, with a focus on the RHH. During this meeting, the ANMF addressed important issues such as parking availability, especially during adverse weather conditions, and safety concerns related to Domain and Regatta grounds parking, among others. This initial discussion was thorough and fruitful, and both parties agreed to independently review all materials. The plan is to reconvene in approximately one month to work towards reaching a consensus on actions and desired outcomes.

Updates correct as at 4 October 2023.
