Launceston General Hospital (LGH)

Ward 6D Benchmarking

In light of these ongoing issues, members authorised the ANMF to progress the grievance to Step 3 and make an application to the Tasmanian Industrial Commission (TIC). Then in relation to benchmarking, members believe it would also be advantageous to reconvene the Ward 6D benchmarking process. Focusing on a reassessment of Category A bed allocations, which may identify the need for an increase in Full Time Equivalent (FTE) to satisfactorily resolve members’ concerns. The ANMF has written to the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) North management requesting a reconvening of the benchmarking meeting. We will keep you informed of any developments.

Update on Proposed Change to Nursing Director Structure at the LGH

The ANMF update members on the recent change proposal regarding the Nursing Director (ND) structure within the Department of Medicine at the LGH.

We received the proposal dated Tuesday 23 April 2024, and were asked to provide feedback by Friday 10 May 2024. Notably, these dates appear to be incorrect. Therefore, we have requested an extension until Monday 10 June 2024, to ensure adequate time for your feedback. During this period, we have proposed that THS management maintain the status quo and proceed with consultations as per the Nurses and Midwives Award 2023.

Specialist Clinics Proposed Changes

The ANMF has formally raised several important points with THS North management concerning the Change Proposal – Outpatient Transformation. For more information, view the latest update.

Updates are correct as of 29 May 2024.
