Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH)

Ward 6A Trauma and Acute Surgical Unit

The ANMF attended a benchmarking meeting on Tuesday 14 May 2024. At this meeting proposed changes were discussed as a result of the changing complexity of Trauma and Acute Surgical Unit (TASU), providing specialty care for trauma and emergency surgical patients.

Emergency Department (ED)

The ANMF will be returning soon with a member meeting to consult regarding recent changes on the ward. Keep an eye out for a text message and meeting flyer.

Intensive Care Unit (ICU)

Following a walk around visit on Tuesday 28 May 2024, the ANMF will follow up with a member meeting on Thursday 6 June 2024 at 1430hrs – 1530hrs. We will discuss 12 hour shift remuneration and a plan of action amongst other ward matters. Keep an eye out for a flyer and text.

Ward K9W

The ANMF has written to the Office of the Executive Director of Nursing (EDON) to exercise some urgency in booking a meeting for a Step 2 Specialist Panel meeting as soon as they are able. Once we have a date and time, a member meeting will be scheduled. This might come at short notice so keep an eye out for a text message and a flyer, as well as consultation with Reps.

Medical Imaging

The ANMF recently met with members to discuss several matters of concern on the ward. Correspondence to senior management is currently being prepared regarding these concerns.

Ward 5A

The ANMF attended a benchmarking meeting with the EDON. The ANMF and members were able to confirm their preferred utilisation of spare FTE to have an extra RN on late shifts from Monday to Friday. After some discussion this was accepted by EDON and team. Keep an eye out for further news regarding the implementation.

Updates are correct as of 29 May 2024.
