Public Sector Updates – North West

North West Regional Hospital (NWRH)

Spencer Clinic Industrial Action Paused

Following the resolution by ANMF members at the Spencer Clinic to commence industrial action on Monday 28 October 2024, by reducing bed numbers to 16 in order to maintain safe staffing, the ANMF can now advise that the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) workplace relations, and people and culture reached out to request an urgent meeting with the ANMF at 1000hrs on Monday 28 October 2024.

As a result of this development, the ANMF is asking members to pause their planned industrial action pending further advice on the outcome of this meeting.

The ANMF remains committed to ensuring that the solutions requested by members at the meeting held on Wednesday 23 October 2024 are addressed. If these solutions are not agreed upon, the industrial action will proceed as planned.

ANMF representatives were in the Spencer Clinic from 1300hrs on Monday 28 October 2024, and they briefed members on the outcome of the meeting at that time.

Members should be congratulated on their resolve and commitment to take action. Securing this urgent meeting is a positive step in the right direction. Further updates will follow.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
