Public Sector Updates – South

Mental Health Services – Continuing Care Teams

The ANMF has sent correspondence to Mental Health Services South management regarding the Step 2 Grievances for the Clarence and Eastern Continuing Care Teams, and the Glenorchy and Northern Teams. Member meetings are being held on Wednesday 2 October 2024 to discuss the progress of the Step 2 Workload Grievance.

P2 Acute Rehab Repatriation Centre

The ANMF met with members on Monday 30 September 2024, to discuss concerns around workloads. These discussions were a result of management being called to the ward to address these concerns last Thursday 26 September 2024. Management gave members assurances on this day that Hospital Assistants (HAs) and orderlies would be rostered onto shifts to alleviate the workload pressures.

At the member meeting, members highlighted that since these assurances were given, last weekend no HAs were rostered on the night shifts, and only one shift had an orderly rostered. Members have been submitting Safety Reporting and Learning System (SRLS) reports regarding the current workload issues, but responses have been limited, with advice only to lodge a workers compensation claim. Members do not feel this addresses the core safety concerns and are considering industrial action, if their concerns are not addressed. Read the full update.

Updates are correct as of 2 October 2024.
