Respect Aged Care

Lead negotiators for the employer have indicated that a draft agreement will be presented to unions this week for consideration. In recent correspondence between parties Respect has indicated they will abolish the handover clause and instead incorporate handover time into shift times. The ANMF will be discussing the implications of this new rule with members to ensure members know their rights under the new agreement. Once the ANMF have the draft agreement a summary of entitlements will be distributed for members’ consideration.

Uniting AgeWell

The ANMF has now finalised the survey of members to form the Log of Claims (LoC). Your responses have been collated and sent as a deidentified document to the employer. It is the ANMF’s intention to speak about the LoC when all parties meet. Your employer has also presented a list of matters they wish to introduce into the Agreement namely Personal Care Worker (PCW) medication allowance, a trial of a dual role employee doing both personal care and wellness duties. Uniting AgeWell (UAW) is also proposing to revise the classifications of Home Care employees. The next bargaining meeting is scheduled to occur on Monday 9 December 2024, the ANMF will keep members updated on the progress of the negotiation as it happens.

North

Medea Park

No bargaining meetings have been held since the Monday 28 October 2024. The ANMF has reached out to your employer asking for a meeting to be scheduled in the interest of moving bargaining along. Once this has occurred the ANMF will keep members up to date with discussions.

Aged Care Deloraine

The ANMF has asked for your employer to re-engage in negotiations, since we have not had any updates from them since the beginning of October 2024. The ANMF continues to push to have the replacement Agreement settled in a timely manner.

The Agreement will operate from Thursday 28 November 2024 and the nominal expiry date is Wednesday 30 June 2027. Any wage increases and new entitlements will be effective from the dates as stated in the Agreement. The Agreement is available on the Fair Work Commission website here.

North West

OneCare Umina Park

Baptcare Limited

Following the ANMF application to the Fair Work Commission (FWC) for protected Industrial Action, Baptcare has chosen to put the agreement to staff to vote on. This has coincided with the Protected Action Ballot (PAB) vote conducted by Vero Voting on the ANMF’s behalf. The ANMF does not endorse the proposed Agreement and encourages all members to vote ‘No’ when Baptcare’s voting period opens. ANMF Northern Organiser, Nicki Hood will be in the workplace this week, please come and ask any questions you may have about the PAB and the proposed Agreement.

Updates are correct as of 27 November 2024.
