Private Sector Updates – South

Hobart Private Hospital Maternity Unit

As you may be aware, Healthscope has announced plans to cease maternity services at Hobart Private Hospital by Wednesday 20 August 2025.

The ANMF is seeking your input to help determine the best course of action to support affected members, while continuing to seek a meeting with management to discuss the process.

The initial Change Impact Statement provided by Healthscope on Thursday 20 February 2025 had a focus on redeployment of nurses within Healthscope and indicated redundancy payments would be a ‘last resort’. Management has subsequently said at a staff meeting that staff will have the option of redundancy packages.

We do not have the details of the positions within Healthscope that management has in mind as possible redeployment options. While there is still limited information, we want to ensure that your general preferences are prioritised as we advocate on your behalf.

Serco

On Thursday 20 February 2025, ANMF officials and member workplace delegates met with Serco representatives to discuss your 2025 AHSC nurses’ Enterprise Agreement (EA). View the latest update.

Updates are correct as of 6 March 2025.
