Public Sector Updates – South

Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH)

Emergency Department Transfer Protocol

After speaking with some Emergency Department (ED) members on Thursday 10 April 2025 the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation Tasmanian Branch (ANMF) would like to provide you with an important update regarding the proposed ED Transfer Protocol. View the latest update

RHH Consumable

The ANMF has been made aware of significant reductions in the consumables available at the RHH, which are directly impacting patient safety. These changes, implemented without adequate consultation, have raised serious concerns regarding the potential risks to patient care and the ability of staff to deliver safe, effective services. Hospital@Home

The ANMF visited members at Cambridge with Glenorchy on Microsoft Teams. There was feedback to members from Ann Allanby about several matters of concern. The Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) has circulated the response via email to the team. Please let the ANMF know if you have any queries. It was agreed by members that the ANMF would enquire further about the condition of the Glenorchy premises. Look out for future meetings with updates.

Whittle Ward

The ANMF has met with members regarding benchmarking, and there has been an exchange of correspondence. A meeting will be scheduled for soon after Easter to discuss the THS’s letter and further consult toward the next step.

New Norfolk District Hospital (NNDH)

The ANMF has received relevant data and a letter addressing members concerns about proposed changes to the roster. Status Quo will apply until June, and the ANMF will hold a meeting soon after Easter to consult with members regarding our next step.

Updates are correct as of 17 April 2025.
