Public Sector Updates – South

Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH)

Clinical Trials Unit

The ANMF has written formally to the Department on behalf of members within the Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) in response to the amended Change Proposal Staffing Matrix circulated to staff during the week of 20 October 2025, and to the Department’s correspondence provided at the Tasmanian Industrial Commission (TIC) dated Tuesday 14 October 2025. Integrated Operations Centre

The ANMF met with members of the Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) following the Department’s Change Proposal received on Thursday 21 August 2025, outlining the intention not to retain the Clinical Director IOC role. The ANMF provided detailed feedback to Chief Executive Joe McDonald on behalf of members, strongly opposing the removal of this vital position. View the latest update.

RHH and the Repatriation Hospital

The ANMF has yet to receive a formal response from Chief Executive Joe McDonald regarding our request to suspend or abolish the Acting Opportunities Pool. This request followed extensive concerns raised by members about the lack of communication surrounding the Expression of Interest (EOI), and the uncertainty regarding its intent, process, and implementation.

The ANMF has now been advised by members that the Acting Opportunities Pool has been removed. This outcome represents a win for ANMF members and reflects an acknowledgment that due process, transparency, and appropriate consultation must be followed before such changes are introduced.

If the ANMF receives a formal response from the Chief Executive, members will be promptly updated.

A special thank you to the members who first raised this issue – it is through your continued engagement that the ANMF can effectively advocate for transparency, equity, strong governance, and fair consultation in decision-making processes that impact your workplaces.

Updates are correct as of 12 November 2025.
