Public Sector Updates – North
Launceston General Hospital (LGH)
Emergency Department (ED)
The ANMF writes to update members working in the Emergency Department (ED) at the Launceston General Hospital (LGH) following the second Tasmanian Industrial Commission (TIC) conciliation meeting on Friday 5 December 2025. View the latest update.
Ward 5D
The ANMF will be attending the fourth conciliation meeting at the TIC this Friday (12 December 2025) for Ward 5D to resolve the long standing workload grievance. To date the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) have offered no remedies to resolve the workload grievance and have provided data that effectively proves there is a workload grievance. This case is likely to proceed to arbitration. The ANMF will provide further updates after this meeting.
Trade Table
ANMF organisers will be onsite in the cafeteria Friday 19 December 2025 0930hrs – 1530hrs, drop by and have a chat with about any current workplace concerns.
Allambi
The ANMF took the matter before Deputy President Ellis on Thursday 4 December 2025 on the grounds that the Change Proposal, as put to members on Friday 6 June 2025, was disingenuous as the decision to move the clinical services from Allambi had already been made. Deputy President agreed with the ANMF that the Department of Health had failed to consult with the ANMF and therefore the opportunity for members to be involved from the beginning was lost. The Executive Director of Nursing noted that building works were well underway, and a new Project Manager would be appointed early 2026 to assist with the final stages of decanting the services to the new location. The matter has now been closed.
Updates are correct as of 10 December 2025.
