Private Sector Updates – North

Calvary Health Care Tasmania (CHCT)

The announcement of capital works at St Vincent’s was welcomed news and the ANMF applauds Calvary Health for investing in services that will eventually be beneficial to Tasmanians seeking medical intervention. The ANMF recognises the next few months will bring a raft of changes into the Calvary St Vincent’s and St Luke’s hospitals and acknowledge these changes can impact members and your colleagues while disruptions occur around you.

The ANMF has raised these concerns with the General Manager (GM) of Calvary North, requesting a monthly meeting where areas of concern can be tabled and discussed before the issues become more problematic. Unfortunately, this request has not been acknowledged by the GM.

In the interim please report any unsafe working areas, or clinical concerns, to your direct line manager or unit Health and Safety Representatives (HSR). If you need to talk to someone confidentially, the Nurse Midwife Health Program is a peer delivered service which is available free of charge by calling 1800 001 060.

The ANMF will continue to pursue the request for a regular monthly meeting where concerns can be discussed and solutions sought.

Updates are correct as of 14 January 2026.
