Private Sector Updates – Statewide

Lifeblood Australia

The ANMF were in attendance at the scheduled bargaining meeting on Thursday 20 August 2026. Lifeblood has now indicated that the increases under the Nurses Award could potentially impact bargaining, which is disputed by the ANMF, who understand that increases to awards fall outside of the Enterprise Agreement (EA) bargaining. The ANMF will pursue this further.

Lifeblood has also indicated they intend to reclassify Donor Services Nursing Assistants (DSNAs) as “Pathology Workers” and propose to pay them as such under the Health Professionals Award, something that has not been consulted on. Also of concern is the fact that Lifeblood intends to remove the grandfathered clauses agreed to on the last round of bargaining, which was offered from Lifeblood to employees to offset a reduction in some entitlements.

The ANMF will also be requesting further information from Lifeblood to determine the impact on our members. View the latest update

Calvary Health Care

After a long and protracted bargaining process, the Calvary Health Care – Tasmania Private Hospitals-Nurses and Midwives Enterprise Agreement 2025-2028 has been approved. The approved operational date is Tuesday 11 August 2026, with Calvary Health Care indicating that new wage rates will be effective from Monday 24 August 2026 with backpay processed in a separate pay cycle on Tuesday 15 September 2026.

Updates are correct as of 26 August 2026.
