Update: Issues at LGH ED
17 April 2019
The ANMF officials and your Workplace Representative attended the Tasmanian Industrial Commission (TIC) on 5 April 2019 to raise issues on behalf of our Launceston General (LGH) Emergency Department (ED) members. The ANMF are continuing their advocacy for members who are working in an overcrowded and ramped department, within a hospital that is virtually 100% bed blocked. The ANMF are currently working with the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) to secure urgent interim measures to assist with maintaining patient safety whilst a Consultative Committee has been convened to look at the long-term issues that are facing our members in the department.
The ANMF conducted a members’ meeting on Friday 5 April 2019 and will meet with members prior to the report back with President Barclay at the TIC. We encourage members in the LGH ED to engage with the ANMF and provide feedback to your workplace representative so that we can continue to obtain real outcomes in an attempt to alleviate your current workload pressures and ensure that your existing workplace is safe.
