Launceston General Hospital Induction
ANMF officials attended the Launceston General Hospital (LGH) on Monday 29 April 2019 to welcome the Transition to Practice Nurses and new nursing and midwifery members to the LGH.
Launceston General Hospital Ward 5A
The ANMF attended a step 2 grievance meeting with Tasmanian Health Service (THS) management on Wednesday 1 May 2019. This meeting was to discuss the ongoing workload concerns on 5A. The ANMF have requested the THS implement the position of a Clinical Coach as an interim safe staffing measure to help address the workload concerns of our members working on 5A. THS have agreed to consider this position and will provide their decision at the next grievance meeting in early June 2019. The ANMF will continue to advocate for our members who are working under significant workload pressure on the ward.
Launceston General Hospital Mental Health Crisis Assessment Triage Team (CATT)
The ANMF conducted a member meeting on Tuesday 30 April 2019 to discuss members previously raised roster concerns and the successful reclassification of CATT members from Grade 4 to Grade 5. Members report there has been improvement in the practice of being rostered one day off since the ANMF sent Mental Health Services Management a letter asserting that the practice of rostering one day off is in breach of the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Award, and the DHHS Rostering Principles. The ANMF encourage members to contact their local organiser to discuss any concerns regarding their individual roster.
