NORTH
Masonic Care Fred French
The ANMF have been working with members at the Masonic Care Tasmania (MCT), Fred French site regarding management’s decision to close one wing for renovation. Members are being asked to permanently relocate to the newly built wing at the Peace Haven site. The ANMF are supporting members via individual meetings with MCT management to discuss rostering and relocation requirements.
If this change affects you, and you would like our support or representation, please contact the ANMF Member Support Team who will put you in touch with the Northern Organiser dealing with this matter. The ANMF will be holding a member meeting at both Fred French and Peace Haven on Wednesday 17 July 2019 and Thursday 18 July 2019 to discuss general workplace issues. More details will soon be circulated by email.
Glenara Lakes
The ANMF met with members working at the Southern Cross Care Tasmania (SCCT) Glenara Lakes facility on 27 June 2019. At this meeting members discussed the proposal by SCCT management to move from a 4-week roster to a 2-week rotational roster, as well as the current numbers of disciplinary meetings being scheduled, and general workloads. The ANMF met with SCCT management following this meeting to work through some preliminary fixes for the raised concerns. An email newsflash from the ANMF will be sent to members employed at this site soon. We will also be again meeting with members on Friday 19 July to further discuss the outcomes of the discussions with management.
Medea Park Residential Care St Helens
ANMF officials met with Medea Park members on Thursday 12 June 2019 to discuss professional and industrial issues. Members raised concerns regarding rosters and pay issues following the implementation of a new roster and payroll system. The ANMF have raised these concerns with management verbally and will follow with written correspondence. Once a response has been received the ANMF will arrange a member meeting to provide feedback.
NORTH WEST
Melaleuca Home for the Aged
The ANMF have received a response from the Chief Executive Officer of Melaleuca regarding workload concerns raised by members. ANMF Workplace Representative Nicki Hood, is collating evidence to substantiate your concerns. With the opening of additional beds and the increase in nursing and caring hours, concerns around resident care have been partly alleviated. However, evidence collected to date indicates that members are continuing to do unpaid and unrecognised overtime to complete routine tasks, e.g. documentation, counting of drugs and handover.
Nicki will continue to monitor the situation and a member meeting will be scheduled soon, please keep an eye out for an email with more information. In the meantime, members are encouraged to claim overtime in line with their agreement. Additionally, our Member Support Team are available on 1800 001 241 to provide advice in the event claims are not approved.
Emmerton Park
A member meeting was held on Wednesday 19 June 2019 to discuss the enterprise agreement ballot and any other issues of interest to members. During this meeting the ANMF also discussed general queries and concerns with members.
