North West Assistants in Nursing (AIN) Working Group

The ANMF attended the North West Assistants in Nursing (AIN) working group on Thursday 26 September. At this meeting the group was provided with an update on the AIN trial, noting that this had had varying successes, partly due to AIN’s predominantly being used as patient sitters. It was agreed to extend the working group and look at the true application of AIN’s in line with appendix E of the Nurses and Midwives agreement. This will involve further exploration and consultation with the North West Regional Hospital (NWRH) medical and surgical units, as well as the Mersey Community Hospital (MCH) medical and rehabilitation units. The working group will next meet on Wednesday 6 November 2019.

North West Rehab Joint Industrial Consultative Meeting

On Thursday 19 September 2019, the ANMF attended the North West Rehabilitation Unit Joint Industrial Consultative Committee. The meeting was the final meeting in the consultative process, it was agreed that ongoing concerns will now be raised at a local level. The ANMF will continue to monitor the implementation process and feedback to members.
