Important notice: Making a submission

The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety is continuing, with the Hobart Hearings scheduled for 11 – 15 November 2019. Counsel Assisting the Royal Commission are identifying people to provide witness statements and/or appear at the hearings. These hearings are part of a valuable and wide process; however, we urge members to not make any statements or appear without contacting us first. If you have already done so, please contact us immediately.

Royal Commission into Aged Care update

The Aged Care Royal Commission has announced that it is now seeking written submissions relating specifically to the aged care workforce, including:

  • Staffing levels
  • Registration schemes
  • Remuneration and working conditions
  • Skill, knowledge and competency levels of staff
  • Workforce leadership
  • Institutional changes

Submissions will be accepted until the close of business on Friday 6 December 2019. Instructions on how to make a submission can be found on the Commission’s Workforce Submissions page here.

As indicated above, in order to ensure you provide a response that considers any legal, professional or industrial ramifications, please contact the ANMF Member Support Team.

The November hearings will take place in Mudgee between 4-6 November 2019 and in Hobart from 11-15 November 2019. The Hobart Hearing will be held in the Derwent Room at Wrest Point commencing at 9.30am, see full details below:
