We are frequently updating information regarding enterprise agreements from private and aged care sites across Tasmania so our members can stay informed.
Calvary Health Care Tasmania
The ANMF has received a final draft Enterprise Agreement from the Calvary negotiation team which has been scrutinised by the ANMF industrial team. The employer appears to have taken a few matters of concern on board in the most recent draft.
Southern Cross Care Tasmania (SCCT)
The ANMF were advised at short notice that the meeting scheduled for today (17 March 2021) was cancelled due to the unavailability of key personnel. The ANMF have asked that SCCT provide a copy of the so-called ‘employer log’ ASAP as it was supposed to have been presented prior to the meeting today.
OneCare
The ANMF has received the final draft Enterprise Agreement from the employer. The employer has refused to move on the preceptor allowance or back pay. No further meetings are scheduled and it is likely that the Enterprise Agreement will be put out to ballot shortly.
Regis
The ANMF has been advised that the employer has appointed a new bargaining agent. Unfortunately, this may mean that the work done to date will need to be repeated.
Anglicare
The Anglicare Agreement (which was voted up by members some weeks ago) has unfortunately not been approved by the Fair Work Commission. The reasons for this are complex however, it is intention of the employer to recommence the process of discussion to quickly reach an agreement which will satisfy the Commission. The employer will be providing an update to staff about this matter.
Healthscope – Protected Action Ballot
The ANMF are advised that ballots should now be appearing in letterboxes. Please make sure you complete (and post) the ballot ASAP to make sure your voice is heard.
Toosey
The balloted Agreement has now been signed by all the parties and is waiting to be lodged at the Fair Work Commission.
Medea Park
The balloted Agreement has now been signed by all parties will be lodged with the Fair Work Commission shortly.
Melaleuca
The ballot concluded on 16 March 2021. Unfortunately, members voted down both the General Staff and Nursing Agreements. One primary reason for the rejection appears to be the loss of paid meal breaks. The ANMF has written to the employer to seek a re-commencement of bargaining.
Meercroft
The Agreement has been lodged with the Fair Work Commission. Undertakings are being discussed with unions.
Tandara Lodge Nursing, Aged Care Deloraine and Wynyard Care Centre
The ANMF wrote to each of these employers requesting the commencement of bargaining in January 2021. No commitment from these employers has been received. Further follow up requests have been made.
Updates correct as at 17 March 2021.
