ANMF Newsflash: Beaconsfield District Health Service

The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation Tasmanian Branch (ANMF) following consultation with members working at the Beaconsfield district Health Service (BDHS) lodged an application in the Tasmanian Industrial Commission (TIC) on 27 September 2021, regarding the recent changes in rostering practices.

The ANMF note that the Tasmanian Health Service moved to change the longstanding rostering practices of our members working at BDHS in August 2020. Feedback for the change was robust, with numerous concerns raised, despite this the change in the roster was progressed. The ANMF note that whilst the consultation process is not designed to oppose management’s decision to instigate change, we do note that it is designed to ensure that the feedback of members is taken into consideration prior to a final decision being made. ANMF members report that their feedback was (and continues to be) ignored.

The ANMF are waiting on a date for the conference to be provided by the TIC. Once ANMF have this confirmed, we will relay this information to members.
