Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH)

Statewide Mental Health Service (SMHS) – Mental Health Inpatient Unit

The ANMF, having written to SMHS management on behalf of members in the Mental Health Inpatient Unit regarding identified workplace concerns, has subsequently received a second request for an extension to the requested date of reply (due to unavailability of personnel on SMHS’ part). A new response date is yet to be confirmed, however, members will be informed once this has been decided.

Acute Older Persons Unit (AOPU)

The ANMF, by virtue of feedback taken at the member meeting on Friday 1 April 2022, has written formally to Tasmanian Health Service (THS) senior management to raise any/all identified concerns. THS Management has subsequently responded with a request for an extension to the original response deadline (20 April), and as such this is now anticipated by Close of Business on Friday 29 April 2022. Members will be provided a full copy of both the ANMF and THS correspondence once received.

Clinical Trials

The ANMF has received a formal response (dated Thursday 14 April 2022) from senior THS management regarding identified workload and staffing issues within the RHH – Clinical Trials. This was disseminated to members via an email on Wednesday 20 April 2022. The ANMF has written to local management requesting a date/time for a follow-up member meeting, which will be advertised via flyer once confirmed. The ANMF also notes that there is a Change Proposal active regarding Clinical Trials and a mooted change in governance from Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) 8A Outpatient Services to the new NUM position within Oncology Clinics 1A. Members are invited to forward any feedback regarding this proposal to the ANMF Member Support Team via email at membersupport@anmftas.org.au for inclusion in any formal response ANMF can write upon receipt of the same. Updates correct as at 27 April 2022.
