Mersey Community Hospital (MCH)

Day Surgery Unit

On Tuesday 1 November 2022, the ANMF met with members at the Mersey Community Hospital (MCH) Day Surgery Unit (DSU) to seek feedback to the first of the formal change proposals. The change proposal outlined the proposed management structure of the MCH operating suite as the renovations occur, and the theatre and DSU move towards a fully integrated operating suite. The ANMF, on behalf of members has sought clarity and provided feedback to management for consideration.

Medical Ward – Assistants in Nursing Trial

On Thursday 27 October 2022, the ANMF met with members at the Mersey Community Hospital (MCH) Medical Ward to discuss the implementation of Assistants in Nursing (AINs). ANMF members unanimously endorsed in principle agreement to incorporate AINs into the Nursing Hours per Patient Day (NHpPD). The ANMF have sought clarity from the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) on some points and expect a response by close of business Monday 14 November 2022. Click here for the latest ANMF newsflash.
