Calvary Health Care Tasmania

The ANMF attended the Enterprise Agreement (EA) meeting on Friday 3 February 2023. Unfortunately, there were no discussions, for while the ANMF had submitted the Log of Claims (LoC) on behalf of members, the employer was awaiting a LoC from another union so were not prepared to have a substantial discussion. The next EA meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 8 March 2023 from 1000hrs until 1200hrs, where Calvary have indicated that they will respond to the LoC. Reps will be attending this meeting. If any members have an interest in becoming a Workplace Representative and attending this next meeting, please contact Southern Organiser Jane Pond at Jane.Pond@anmftas.org.au

The ANMF continues to advocate for members working at the North West Private Hospital (NWPH) Huon Ward to address significant workload concerns. In correspondence and during conciliation conferences, NWPH management has provided commitments including:

  • Monitor staffing levels on a shift-by-shift basis, utilise bypass to ensure safe staffing.
  • Allocate staff for antenatal patients.
  • Ensure the Midwife Unit Manager (MUM) and the team leader do not have a patient allocation.
  • Increase the base roster to 6 in the morning, 6 in the afternoon and 4 overnight.
