Public Sector Updates – North West

North West Regional Hospital (NWRH)

Spencer Clinic

The ANMF met with members at the Spencer Clinic on Monday 13 March 2023, to discuss the response to the Step 1 Grievance and seek members further direction. At the meeting, further concerns and potential solutions were discussed. Formal notification to management is in process, and once a response is received the ANMF will meet with members again. Updates will be communicated via email.

Operating Suite

The ANMF met with members at the NWRH Operating Suite on Friday 10 March 2023. Members raised workload concerns including safe staffing for after hours and weekends. The ANMF, on behalf of members, raised a Step 1 Grievance. The Tasmanian Health Service (THS) has provided a response which will be discussed with members at the next meeting.

Emergency Department

The ANMF wish to offer support to all members in the NWRH Emergency Department (ED) who have been impacted by the recent events. The ANMF encourage nurses to reach out for assistance 24/7 via the Nurse and Midwife Support line on 1800 667 877. ANMF Tasmanian Branch Secretary, Emily Shepherd will be in the NWRH staff room on Thursday 11 May 2023 at 1400hrs. Members will receive on invitation via text message.
