Public Sector Updates – South

Royal Hobart Hospital Paediatric/Adolescent Unit (K6)

The ANMF understand from feedback received today from Statewide Mental Health Services (SMHS) that the new 2-bed Mother Baby Unit was operationalised Thursday 22 June 2023. However, the ANMF has not been provided with a Model of Care or associated materials for the sake of consultation with Paediatric/Adolescent Unit (K6) staff, who are likely to be affected by introduction of the new service. The ANMF remain committed to ensuring that all industrial process is adhered to in this case and will be conducting extensive walk arounds of K6 over the coming days to take member feedback and ascertain what steps, if any, are required in the short term. Any member correspondence on these matters is welcomed via email addressed to membersupport@anmftas.org.au.

Royal Hobart Hospital Inpatient Oncology Unit

The ANMF will conduct a member meeting in 9A Inpatient Oncology Unit this Thursday 29 June 2023 at 1400hrs to discuss proposed outcomes from a formal Nursing Hours per Patient Day (NHpPD) Benchmarking meeting conducted Wednesday 21 June 2023. The meeting will be held in the 8A Meeting Room.

Correctional Primary Health Service in Southern Tasmania

If you are a current employee of Correctional Primary Health Service (CPHS) in Southern Tasmania, please note that there is a survey underway to do with Award Compliance of the roster pattern for full time workers. The survey was sent to ANMF members via email on Friday 16 June 2023. If you have any questions or are a CPHS employee and have not received the survey, please email Senior Organiser Jenna Bowling at Jenna.Bowling@anmftas.org.au. The survey will close 1700hrs Friday 7 July 2023.

Tasmanian Health Service South Car Parking Survey

The ANMF has sent a survey out to all public sector nurses and midwives across the greater Hobart CBD area regarding their experiences of car parking and potential solutions to frequently raised issues such as availability, security, and cost. If you haven’t already replied, please consider taking the time to complete the survey here before it closes at 1500hrs Friday 30 June 2023.
