Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH)

Emergency Department (ED)

On Wednesday 11 October 2023, the ANMF attended the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) Emergency Department (ED) to conduct a member meeting and celebrate hard-working and dedicated ED nurses in recognition of ‘Emergency Nurses Day’. The member meeting included conversation on current topics of interest/concern whilst various lollies, pens, retractables and other merchandise were disseminated in thanks to all those in attendance. The ANMF remain committed to the support and advocacy of ED nurses across Tasmania.

Aged Services Team

The ANMF met with members of the RHH Aged Services Team on Wednesday 11 October 2023, seeking to finalise various aspects of its outstanding Step One Grievance. Several actions were decided upon within this meeting which will be undertaken by the ANMF – amongst them a request for another meeting to be held on Wednesday 8 November 2023. The ANMF has approached Tasmanian Health Service (THS) management with this request and await confirmation, members will be advised once finalised.

Acute Rehabilitation Unit

The ANMF, having conducted a member meeting within Acute Rehabilitation Unit (P2) on Wednesday 27 September 2023, has written to THS management advising of members’ resolution to accept Benchmarking outcomes (a drop in Nursing Hours per Patient Day (NHpPD) value, albeit with an increase to actual staffing resources of 16 hours per week). The ANMF has requested a copy of any/all final documentation for its records and consider this matter closed.
