ANMF members plan to return to the Tasmanian Industrial Commission (TIC). The ongoing workload dispute in the North West Regional Hospital (NWRH) Operating Room Suite (ORS) was to be heard on Tuesday 29 April 2025 in the TIC. Pathology Services

The ANMF advises members that we have now received a formal written response from the Secretary of Health to our letter raising concerns about the Tuesday 1 July 2025 transition of pathology services to the new private provider on the North West Coast. Read the full update here.

Spencer Clinic

The ANMF met with members on Thursday 12 June 2025. Members unanimously endorsed the ANMF to raise a Nursing Hours per Patient Day (NHpPD) Step One Grievance, as per the Tasmanian Nurses and Midwives [Tasmanian State Service] Award 2024, Part VII, Section 2: Workload Management S2013. Mersey Community Hospital (MCH)

Theatre & Day Surgery Unit (DSU)

Reminder to members working in Theatre/DSU to complete the staffing and skill mix survey.

Medical Day Procedure Unit (MPDU)

The ANMF raised a Step 1 grievance in June. There was, and continues to be, ongoing confusion among management about who is responsible for responding to the grievance, further highlighting members and ANMF’s position that the department has long suffered from unstable leadership structures. After no response to the Step 1 it was escalated to a Step 2, the ANMF met with management on 21 July to discuss. THS have committed to re-benchmarking MPDU within the next four weeks – this is currently 3 years overdue. The ANMF will meet with members shortly to provide further updates.

Updates are correct as of Wednesday 23 July 2025.
