Aged Care Updates – Statewide

Regis

After a lengthy gap in negotiations, Regis finally responded to the ANMF’s request to reconvene bargaining, with all parties scheduled to meet on Thursday 22 January 2026. Unfortunately, Regis cancelled the meeting without notice. To date, the ANMF has received no indication of when the meeting will be rescheduled, meaning that once again Regis is delaying negotiations on the replacement agreement.

North

Toosey Aged Care

Toosey has provided a draft agreement to all parties to allow further work on the wording of some clauses. The ANMF has been very clear that we do not accept Toosey’s refusal to pass on any wage increase to nurses in the second year of the agreement.

Further, Toosey’s explanation that this approach is intended to “level the playing field” between different cohorts of employees is, in practice, disadvantageous to employees carrying significant responsibility in aged care. The ANMF continues to seek clarity and justification around these matters.

ANMF Organiser Nicki Hood will be in the workplace on Tuesday 3 February 2026. Members are encouraged to take this opportunity to provide their feedback.

South

Southern Cross Care Tasmania (SCCT) – Rosary Gardens Closure

The ANMF has consulted with members at Rosary Gardens following SCCT’s decision to close the facility. While The ANMF continues to campaign to save Rosary Gardens, we are also taking action to protect members’ employment, income, and entitlements through this process. Read the full update here.
