Ward K10 West

The ANMF recently conducted a member survey regarding the proposed benchmarking model for K10 West. Based on the feedback received, a majority of members voted to accept the benchmarking proposal. View the latest update. 

Maternity Services

The ANMF attended Ward K7 on Wednesday 25 February 2026, where members voted on the top three priorities to progress as part of the Step One Workload Grievance. View the latest update. 

Ward 6A Trauma and Acute Surgical Unit

The ANMF attended the benchmarking meeting for Ward 6A Trauma & Acute Surgical Unit (TASU) on Tuesday 10 March 2026, to represent member concerns and ensure that the service’s growing acuity and workload pressures were clearly articulated.  

The current Tasmanian Health Service (THS) proposal includes; maintaining existing benchmarked staffing levels, reducing one Registered Nurse (RN) Full-Time Equivalent (FTE) and increasing one Enrolled Nurse (EN) FTE as the only staffing model change – no uplift in staffing despite the unit now functioning with all Level A beds – no Level B beds, with significantly increased acuity and behavioural complexity. Centre for Education and Research

The ANMF received a formal response from Tasmanian Health Service (THS) South management on Monday 2 March 2026, following the dispute raised on behalf of members. 

In their correspondence, the employer acknowledged the concerns raised and confirmed that a formal response with an outcome and outlining next steps for both the October 2025 review and Centre for Education and Research (CER) change proposal will be provided within one month — by the end of March2026. They advised that this timeframe is required to enable consultation with executive staff so that the recommendations can be carefully and responsibly considered before detailed information is supplied. 

The ANMF will monitor progress closely to ensure all agreed timeframes are met and that the requested information is provided in full.
