Launceston General Hospital
Ward 4D
On Thursday 17 September, the ANMF appeared in the Tasmanian Industrial Commission (TIC) on behalf of members in the Launceston General Hospital Medical Ward 4D. The ANMF argued that the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) had breached the consultation terms of the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Award in relation to the introduction of Northern Coronary Care Unit (NCCU) beds to Medical Ward 4D. Emergency Department
On Thursday 24 September, the ANMF met with members in the Launceston General Hospital Emergency Department to discuss the current workload grievance and new benchmarking for 2020. Members endorsed the increase in Full Time Equivalents (FTEs) that was identified via the eTool Benchmarking however noted that this would not fix the workload issue associated with the current bed block. Ward 40/B
The ANMF has implemented a member survey for members on Ward 4O/B in relation to the long outstanding Workload Grievance that goes back to July 2019. Specialist Clinics
The Tasmanian Health Service (THS) plan to conduct an external review of the Specialist Clinics at the Launceston General Hospital. The ANMF are to be involved in developing the Terms of Reference, however the review will have a limited capacity to assess workloads.
