Mersey Community Hospital (MCH)

Medical Ward

The ANMF held a member meeting at the MCH Medical Ward. Members raised ongoing concerns that the ward has been operating with 33 beds for several years, while only benchmarked to 28. Members also continue to advocate strongly for the implementation of a clinical coach due to the high proportion of junior staff. The ANMF has written to management outlining these concerns and will provide an update once a response is received.

Emergency Department (ED)

The ANMF held a member meeting at the MCH ED, where members raised concerns regarding 2024 benchmarking not being implemented and persistent bed block. ANMF has raised a Step 1 Grievance regarding the 2024 benchmarking. Updates will be provided as they are available.

Updates are correct as of 20 August 2025.
