Royal Hobart Hospital Acute Pain Service and the Department of Anaesthetic and Perioperative Medicine Research Unit
The ANMF is providing members with an update regarding the recent Change Proposal titled “Medical Offices – Surgical and Perioperative Services”, received on Monday 22 December 2025. 

Following strong concerns raised by members within the Acute Pain Service (APS) and the Department of Anaesthetic and Perioperative Medicine (DAPM) Research Unit, members have now formally voted to raise a dispute under the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Award 2024. View the latest update 

Peacock 2
The ANMF has received a change proposal on Tuesday 3 February 2026 from the Department seeking to amend shift times on Peacock 2 (P2), with implementation proposed for March 2026.  

The Department has advised the change would be subject to a 3-month and 6-month review, with staff feedback used to assess whether the change has achieved its intended improvements. View the latest update

ANMF organisers visited K10 West on Tuesday 3 February 2026 to meet with members and seek initial feedback on the proposed benchmarking changes. Royal Hobart Hospital Maternity
Following member meetings held at Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) (Wednesday 4 February 2026), Women’s Health Clinic (WHC) (Thursday 5 February 2026) and K7 (Tuesday 10 February 2026), the ANMF advises that members have voted to endorse the lodgement of a Step One Workload Grievance under the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Interim Agreement 2013. View the latest update 

Royal Hobart Hospital Clinical Trials Unit
The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation Tasmanian Branch (ANMF) is pleased to advise members of a significant win for ANMF and Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) members. 

Following strong advocacy by the ANMF and members, the Department has withdrawn the proposed 58% staffing cut change proposal. View the latest update 

Royal Hobart Hospital Centre for Education and Research
Following a survey held last year and a member meeting held on Tuesday 10 February 2026, affected members have voted to formally raise a dispute under the Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Award 2024 due to the ongoing lack of communication and failure to finalise a change proposal that has been with the Chief Executive Hospitals South (CEHS) since April 2025. View the latest update 

Royal Hobart Hospital Department of Medical Imaging
On Friday 13 February 2026, the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation Tasmanian Branch (ANMF) informed the Tasmanian Industrial Commission (TIC) that additional nursing staff, as promised by the Tasmanian Health Service (THS) in late 2025, was held up by its Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and interim measures were sought to address staffing shortfalls in the meantime.  The ANMF noted that work towards benchmarking was progressing slowly and asked the TIC to keep the Department on a stringent timeline. 

The THS noted that modelling was taking a while because it will be undertaken across all Tasmanian hospitals. Regarding the CFO delay, the THS said that pending CFO approval, “bodies will be on the ground” and THS representatives anticipate that it will occur around one week and one day away from Friday 13 February 2026. 

The President allowed the THS another 2 weeks’ time for its CFO to consider the materials and fixed the next date for parties to appear in TIC at 1000hrs on Friday 27 February 2026 to report back to the President. 

Continuing Care Teams South
The ANMF attended the Tasmanian Industrial Commission (TIC) on Friday 13 February 2026 regarding ongoing workload, modelling and Multi-Disciplinary Allowance (MDA) issues within the Continuing Care Teams (CCTs). 

We outlined serious concerns about unsafe workloads, the lack of required modelling under Appendix C, unpaid MDA, and the Tasmania Health Service (THS) progressing its Change Proposal without meeting obligations under the Nurses and Midwives Agreement. View the latest update
