Public Sector Updates – North

Launceston General Hospital (LGH)

The ANMF has written to Dale Webster, Secretary of Health to raise concerns that statewide cost-containment measures, previously described by THS executive as “austerity measures”, are being implemented across the THS to reduce expenditure. View the latest update. 

Acute Medical Unit (AMU)

The ANMF recently lodged a dispute in the Tasmanian Industrial Commission (TIC) in response to delays in the implementation of the agreed 2025 benchmarking outcomes for Acute Medical Unit (AMU). View the latest update. 

Ward 4N

Following the lodgement of a dispute in the TIC regarding ongoing staffing concerns on Ward 4N, the THS has advised that the Proposal to Vary the Establishments (PTVEs) to increase the establishment by 2.52 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) – in line with the October 2025 benchmarking – have now been processed. Emergency Department (ED)

The ANMF is writing to update you on the Launceston General Hospital (LGH) Emergency Department (ED) workload grievance currently before the TIC, and to seek your input on a potential pathway forward. View the latest update. 

Primary Health North

The ANMF has received correspondence from Tasmanian Health Service (THS) Nursing Director – Primary Health North informing us that a review into referral pathways for some intermediate services will be undertaken. View the latest update.
