Public Sector Emergency Departments
The ANMF has been advised of industrial action being taken by paramedics. As part of this action, paramedics have commenced transporting and transferring all patients who call 000 to hospital Emergency Departments (EDs). View the latest update.

The ANMF attended a bargaining meeting on Tuesday 5 May 2026, where discussions focused on wages and key member priorities. As mentioned above in the EBA Update 4, the ANMF attended bargaining on Tuesday 5 May 2026, ready to progress members’ claims on time and without delay. The ANMF’s approach in the meeting reflected the level of professionalism nurses and midwives expect in negotiations of this importance, and the seriousness with which we represent the profession on behalf of members.
