Fatigue Management Procedure

The ANMF has formally lodged further feedback with the Department of Health on its proposed Fatigue Management Procedure, after it was again circulated during Public Sector Negotiations – following the ANMF’s claims relating to burnout, fatigue and work health and safety. View the latest update

Enterprise Bargaining Agreement Update

ANMF delegates have now commenced formal negotiations with the Department on a new Public Sector Agreement, following the Log of Claims (LoC) presentations. During bargaining, delegates strongly advocated for member claims relating to Mental Health, Caseload Midwifery, District Hospitals, Department of Education Children and Young People (DECYP) and Ambulance Tasmania. The ANMF also made it clear that wages remain members’ number one priority and that the wage offer put to other Public Sector workers will not be enough for nurses and midwives. Tasmanian nurses and midwives are already estimated to be between 9% and 16% behind interstate colleagues, depending on classification level. Bargaining has now moved to weekly negotiations, including detailed discussions on drafting and agreement wording, which the ANMF welcomes as an important step towards progressing the Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) process. Integrated Operations Centre

The ANMF has continued to consult with members following the Department’s response dated Wednesday 22 July 2026 to concerns previously raised regarding the proposed changes to the South Integrated Operations Centre (IOC) and the proposed statewide Tasmanian Health Service (THS) IOC. Repatriation Centre and Cimitiere House

The ANMF attended the Safety and Security Union Meeting on Thursday 20 August 2026. The meeting continued discussions relating to the Safety and Support Internal Security Model Project, which has primarily focused on safety and security arrangements within the four major hospitals. The ANMF reiterated concerns previously raised that this narrow focus does not adequately consider the many other sites where nurses and midwives are employed, including the Repatriation Centre, Cimitiere House in Launceston, and numerous rural, remote and community health settings, including Flinders and King Island across Tasmania. Updates are correct as of 26 August 2026.
