ANMF Newsflash: Public Sector Union Wages Agreement – Public Sector Entitlements

The Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation Tasmanian Branch (ANMF) as your bargaining representative has presented the Government offer in a series of member meetings on site and via Zoom, with some still to occur this week. However, the ANMF has developed this newsflash outlining the offer in detail so that you can review the offer and also understand what it means for you and your circumstances.

During negotiations, the ANMF advocated fiercely on behalf of Tasmanian nurses, midwives, and assistants in nursing (AINs) on the Log of Claims items that were determined through individual member meetings, online surveys and through digital feedback.  This included competitive wages and a range of condition improvements so that improved retention and recruitment can aid in addressing workloads.

The ANMF therefore is presenting to members the Government’s offer for their understanding prior to a formal vote. The offer as presented will see nurses, midwives and AINs remunerated at a minimum of National Average (majority by 1 December 2023) and some classifications will be the highest paid in the country. The ANMF is welcoming feedback in relation to the offer (noting that additional claim items cannot be raised at this point) and every member will have the opportunity to vote. We will collate all feedback provided at the end of consultation meetings and present the majority view back to Government. The ANMF is proud to be the only union to advocate fiercely at every meeting for improved wages and conditions for Tasmanian nurses, midwives and AINs.

Please see below for more information on the offer.
