Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH)

Ward 5A

Department of Critical Care Medicine (DCCM)

Thank you to all members who participated in the survey circulated last week. The ANMF received an overwhelming response, with the clear majority of DCCM members indicating strong support for pursuing pay parity with Emergency Department (ED) staff when working a 12.5-hour shift. Ward 2J

Thank you to all members who attended and contributed to the member meeting held on Friday 28 November 2025. Your continued engagement is essential in ensuring the ANMF can effectively advocate for safe staffing and reasonable workloads. View the latest update. 

Department of Medical Imaging (DMI)

Thank you to all DMI members for your ongoing engagement and advocacy in progressing the staffing concerns within your department. Following consultation with members, the ANMF confirmed agreement to the proposed uplift in staffing as an interim measure, while a comprehensive benchmarking model continues to be developed. Members advised that this interim increase would finally establish a much-needed baseline to address the longstanding staffing shortfalls that have been contributing to unsustainable workloads. Mother and Baby Unit (MBU) 

The ANMF has received the Department’s Change Proposal outlining the transition from the current MBU at the RHH to the new Intensive Residential Parenting Unit (IRPU), planned to commence operations mid-2026. This proposal has significant implications for services, staffing, and employment arrangements. View the latest update. 

Clinical Trials Unit

The ANMF attended the TIC regarding the Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) Change Proposal matter. Prior to the hearing, the Department circulated an amended Change Proposal, advising that the revised process will include an initial 7-day consultation period, with the option to extend this timeframe if required. Mental Health Hospital in the Home

The ANMF writes in response to member reports that full-time employees working in the Mental Health Hospital in the Home (HITH) are not being given access to Accrued Days Off (ADO). Conflicting and erroneous information has been given to members with them being informed that only employees who are Grade 6 and above are entitled to ADOs. View the latest update. 

Adult Community Mental Health Services – Continuing Care Teams South (CCTs)

The ANMF is advocating strongly for members in the CCTs in the South, a unit within Statewide Mental Health Services. We’re pleased to inform you that your grievance has been accepted for consideration by the Tasmanian Industrial Commission (TIC). View the latest update.
