Public Sector Updates – South

Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH)

Following the Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) meeting for your replacement agreement on Tuesday 22 September 2026, the Government failed to make an offer to members, despite a two-week pause in negotiations for the Government to consider this after many months of good faith bargaining.  Emergency Department (ED)

Thank you to everyone who engaged with the ANMF on Wednesday 16 September 2026 to discuss the benchmarking proposal and current workload concerns. The ANMF met with the Department today to discuss the proposal and the feedback raised by members. View the latest update 

Ward 2A

Thank you to Ward 2A Acute Medical members for continuing to raise concerns about workload, staffing and patient safety. Following the Department’s response to the Step One workload grievance, members have advised that the concerns remain unresolved and have endorsed escalating the matter to Step Two under Appendix C of the Nurses and Midwives Agreement. View the latest update 

Endoscopy

Following an endorsed petition by ANMF members, Endoscopy Unit members will commence industrial action from Thursday 1 October 2026, in the form of taking 2 x 10-minute paid tea breaks per day. View the latest update 

Women’s and Children’s Service

The Department of Health has released a Change Proposal outlining a proposed restructure of administrative roles within Women’s and Children’s Services (WACS) at the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH). The ANMF is seeking feedback from members to better understand how the proposed changes may affect you, your colleagues and the delivery of clinical and administrative support across WACS. Level 10 Wellington Clinics

Thank you to all Level 10 Wellington Clinics members for your ongoing engagement and support in raising concerns about staffing, workload and the sustainability of the current service. The ANMF has now formally lodged a Step 1 workload grievance with the Department under Appendix C of the Nurses and Midwives Agreement, regarding the sustained unreasonable workload being experienced by nurses working within Level 10. View the latest update

Statewide Mental Health Services South (SMHS)

The ANMF has received confirmation from the Department that the Stage Two Change Proposal is currently on hold. The Department has advised that an alternative workplace arrangement has been put in place, allowing affected employees to remain at 110 Collins Street. These changes were implemented quickly, and the Department has indicated it is not yet clear how long this arrangement will continue. View the latest update 

New Norfolk District Hospital (NNDH)

Following the NNDH member meeting on Thursday 17 September 2026 the ANMF provides the following update on the progress of the Step 2 Grievance and the upcoming District Hospitals in Tasmania Safe Staffing (DHiTS) review. View the latest update
